Senior Cat Refuses To Fall Asleep Unless His Hooman Spoons Him Before Bed

If you've ever had the pleasure of owning and taking care of a senior cat then you know just how fragile and gentle they can be. Oftentimes, senior cats are overlooked due to their old age. People assume that if they adopt a senior cat, they'll lose the cat too early and won't have enough time with them, and so they decide they're not worth it. 

But if you ask us, that's a really selfish way of looking at things. Yes, it's true, you won't have nearly as much time with a senior cat as you will with a newborn kitten. But if you take a moment to step back and think about the senior cat in need and what's best for them, then you'll quickly realize that you have the power to rock their entire world and make the rest of their life as comfortable, loving, and cushy as possible. You'll be their last memory, and hopefully, it will be a memory of peace, love, and comfort.

    Not to be dramatic or anything, but the bond between a hooman and their senior cat is one like no other. Unfortunately (or fortunately), old age is inevitable and part of the cycle of life. That's why it's important you treasure every waking moment with your cataroos; every cuddle, every purr, and every meow.

    This dude doesn't look a day over 5 years old, really! Such a distinguished little gentleman. We obviously can't say for sure, but this little fella looks very polite and well-mannered. And the little blep? Ugh, we can't. Hearts are melted!

Whenever I went to bed, he would come up with me, and snuggle under the covers, just rumbling away, for anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Every night without fail, he'd see me off to sleep. When my wife and I first moved in together (affianced at the time) we decided we wanted cats. Poomsuh, the cat in question, was our first. When we picked him up, it turned out that he'd been born on the very day I asked the woman who would be

    Font - +2.6 hr. ago Poomsuh was meant to be! DianneTodd01 I have something similar. We lost two cats in 2019 within a few months due to unrelated illnesses. This happened on either side of our moving to a new home several states away. In December, we adopted two kittens from different litters. We found out later one kitten was born the day we arrived in our new home and the other kitten shared the same birthday with our former cats.

    Human body - wyrd_werks +3 - 10 hr. ago Senior cats get SO affectionate. My 18 year old man is like that now too. Needs to be touching me and prefers the side my face is on. If I pull him under the covers to spoon he purrs until his purrs turn to snores. Cutest thing ever. Senior cats are so precious. And that blep! Your cat is so cute!

    Font - _dead_and_broken 9 hr. ago My tuxedo insists on always being in someone's legs. Whether we're just sitting cross legged or on the recliner with our feet up, she's there. In bed, you better be on your side, and either she picks the crook of my knees or my husband in the crook of his one knee that's bent and between the other that's straight. I keep joking we gotta just stuff a pair of jeans to have a decoy so we can't be held hostage all the time anymore lol

    Font - veronitronnn 10 hr. ago My cat is 16 and has been doing this for the past 6 months. When he is ready for bed, he will nose my face and paw at the blanket until I lift it for him and he will sleep there all night. I don't know how he doesn't get hot.
